The BJP’s Wave led by its Prime Ministerial Candidate Shri Narendra Modi was too strong for the 100 Year Old Dynasty [Sonia gandhi & Rahul Gandhi] Controlled Corrupt Congress Party as it was wiped out in all the 4 states of Hindi Heart belt – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and the National Capital of Delhi. The BJP which went to seek mandate with the Citizens of India with Progressive and People Oriented Reforms secured a thumping victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and locked in a close contest with AAP in Delhi Assembly.
In Madhya Pradesh, the two term incumbent BJP secured a landslide victory by winning 165/230 seats. In Rajasthan as well, the margin of victory is huge, with BJP gaining 162/199 seats. Infact, this is highest margin of victory recorded in the state since Independence
Spectacular Debut for the AAP
The Aam Aadmi Party has made a spectacular debut in the Delhi state elections, by garnering 28/70 seats and more than 30% vote share. The party is just one year old, and is formed by a group of political activists of the famous anti-corruption movement headed by Anna Hazare in India.
Positive Impact for BJP on National Elections
As far as national elections are concerned, the results in these four states could be mirrored in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as well. These states account for 72/543 seats. Given, the high margins of victory, it implies that the Modi campaign is gaining momentum and his leadership within the party would be further strengthened. Importantly, it also increases the chances of pre-poll alliances.
Congress Headed for a Disaster in General Elections of 2014
Congress has been the biggest loser in 2013 Assembly Elections. Congress will get its lowest ever seats in the 2014 National Elections. Congress can do little to improve their chances. What is clear is that Caste Based Politics of Congress and Populism [Rs 2 / Kg of Rice etc] doesn’t work with High Corruption and Inflation as People will vote for Growth and Good Governance and hence Congress will suffer.
