Historical Rise in Minimum Support Price of Indian Agricultural Products

The recent months have seen a sharp decline in farm output prices on the back of increased farm output. This in turn has resulted in large-scale protests by farmers, which has forced various state governments to announce farm-loan waiver schemes. We note that the recent decline in inflation is largely due to sharp decline in prices of certain food items.

The Following Chart shows the Historical Rise in Minimum Support Price of Indian Agricultural Products between 2007-2017.

Despite such massive increase in Agricultural Products, the Government continuesto pump Tax Payers money into the Rural Economy with never ending benefits of FREE FOOD, Farm Loan Waiver putting high stress on the hardworking employees in Indian Cities with Poorest of the Poor Infrastructure all because of the Vote Bank Politics.
