Indian IT sector emerges as laggard in creating jobs

The one time favorite IT space has lost its sheen as a hot spot for employment and the prospects of job creation has slipped by 46% in the last quarter of 2008 further denting the sentiments post Satyam saga.
In the third quarter of 2008, the sector has witnessed a staggering 484% growth, while job creation prospects in other two sectors – financial services and hospitality — have dipped by 38% overall in October-December 2008.
The report said that in the July-September period, employment creation saw a growth rate of 124%, and 238% in April-June.

Yes, The Indian IT should trim down their work force by 50%, most of people I know are worthlesst there.
