Delhi International Airport (DIAL), a Subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure has received the approval from the ministry of civil aviation to charge Airport Development Fee (ADF) from departing passengers at the IGI Airport.
The company has further stated that this fee would provide a boost to the airport modernisation project at this critical juncture, to the construction of a modern airport for Delhi, a project of national importance.
The Airport Development Fee collected from the passengers will be used only for the development activities relating to aeronautical and transfer assets, which will be later, transferred to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) upon expiry of lease of IGI Airport.
You can recall that GMR Infra promoters bought 5.65 lakh shares just before the announcement.
