India’s second largest software exporter – Infosys Technologies – has set up a not-for-profit trust christened Infosys Science Foundation to promote research in sciences in India.
Under this initiative, Infosys will honour outstanding contributions and achievements made by Indians across various fields in science. The annual award for each category comes to the tune of Rs 50 lakh.
The executive board members of Infy have set aside a corpus of Rs 21.5 crore for the Infosys Science Foundation, also making the annual grant for the foundation to carry out activities. We feel this is a great move to enrich the falling standards of Science education in India.
