The Tata Group’s flagship automobile major Tata Motors is expected to flag off bookings for its small car – Nano – by the end of the month while deliveries will begin next month. The first batch of Nanos will be from the company’s Pantnagar facility.
Despite the slowdown in the global auto sector that has also impacted the domestic auto industry, Tata Motors has linked up a host of new car launches this year. Xenon, a premium lifestyle pick-up vehicle for personal usage, will be unveiled this month followed by the Rs 1-lakh Nano in March.
The auto major is hopeful of standing by its promise of launching the world’s cheapest car at Rs 1 lakh. Tata Motors Finance has drawn up various initiatives and is looking at tie-ups with SBI and HDFC Bank to offer attractive car loans for potential customers.
