In a move to compensate ailing fertilizers industry during the current financial year, the government has announced the issue of 6.65% Fertilizer Companies Government of India Special Bonds, 2023 for Rs 6,000 crore.
Any investments in this instrument made by banks and insurance companies would not be considered as an eligible investment in government securities for their statutory requirements. For insurance companies, it will be considered as investment under other approved securities.
