Gammon India involved in Delhi Metro Mishap

For the second time in ten months, infrastructure construction company Gammon India has been held responsible for an accident. Earlier, it was flyover accident at Panjagutta in the heart of Hyderabad and now collapse of a part of an under construction Delhi Metro line on Sunday.

The pillar holding up the overhead railway tracks collapsed as a result of which the concrete slabs being laid came crashing down. Five people were killed and 15 were injured in the accident.

The metro line is scheduled to open by September 2010 when the Commonwealth Games are to be hosted in the capital city.
