Vijaya Bank is planning to open 35 new branches across the country by the end of March 2009. The bank’s aim is to cross the 1,100-mark of total branch network by the end of the current fiscal.
The bank currently has 1,065 branches across the country. Of the proposed 35 new branches, 19 would be set up in Andhra Pradesh.
It is planning to launch mobile banking in a couple of months and would implement core banking solutions across all its branches by the end of this year.
The bank has received all the necessary approvals from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for this.
