LIC credit cards by end of March with Corporation Bank

India’s major insurer – Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) – is all set to launch its credit card – LIC Credit Card before end-March, a company official announced.

The insurer had earlier scheduled the launch of its credit card for January. However this was deferred due to some technical reasons. LIC has inked pact with Karnataka-based Corporation Bank for this white-labelled credit cards. The bank will act as the card issuer.

Very recently, Punjab National Bank launched its Global  credit card. Banks have to be really careful in selecting their customer base. Kotak and HDFC seem to be doing a good job in selecting the base, rstricting mostly to existing customers of its Banking divisions.
