ONGC awards Rs 6,800 cr order to Linde-Samsung consortium

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has placed a lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) contract worth Rs 6,800 crore with the conglomerate consisting of Germany’s Linde AG and South Korea’s Samsung Engineering.

The deal is for setting up a turnkey ethylene plant at its mega petrochemical project at Dahej in Gujarat. The proposed plant will be the largest of its kind in India and one of the largest in the world.

The Rs 12,440 crore worth petrochemical project is being built by ONGC Petro-additions (OPaL), a special purpose vehicle set up by ONGC for this purpose. ONGC holds 26% stake in OPaL.
