Delhi govt to launch insurance scheme with Rs 1.25 monthly premium

With an eye on the forthcoming elections, Delhi government has come up with a new postal life insurance scheme for a monthly premium of Rs.1.25 for the rural population. The new policy will provide a coverage of Rs 1,00,000 of sum assured and the policyholder has to contribute only Rs 1.25 per month or Rs 15 per year as premium.

The customers can also get the medical check-ups done through government doctors instead of going to the district headquarters. The postal department would also send alerts about the policy status – expiry premium time – on the mobile phones of the PLI holders. The new policy will be launched soon, minister of state for communications and IT Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Wednesday
