Due to lack of a more specific relief package for the textile sector, industry lobby Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has sought for an increase in the duty drawback rate and a further 2% interest subvention, apart from removal of income tax on exports and changes in the labour law.
CMAI has sent a proposal to the ministry of commerce and industry and the PMO in which it has requested for a more specific package for the textile sector, while the response from the government is still awaited.
