Bharti Airtl has received approval from share holders to split the face value of its shares from Rs 10 to Rs 5 or in the ratio of 1:2.So the number of stocks you hold in Bharti Airtel will double after the record date.
This is not the same a split that occurs in the US as their is no dilution of equity and EPS but just a gimmick to make the stock more attractive and give an opportunity for traders.
