Major commercial vehicle maker, Ashok Leyland, has registered domestic sales down by 74%, to 1,420 units in December 2008, against 5,488 units in a year ago period. However, its exports have increased by 8%, to 901 units over 852 units.
The company witnessed fall in production by 86%, to 960 units in last month compare to 7,110 units in a year ago period while its production dropped by 20%, to 47,293 units for a period between April-December 2008, against 59,811 units in the same period a year ago.
The company’s cumulative sales plunged by 22%, to 43,657 units from April to December 2008, against 55,998 units, in a corresponding period a year ago.
