State Bank of India (SBI) is planning to provide marketing support for its small and medium segment (SME) clients by setting up a new business-to-consumer portal.
The companies can sell their products to the customers of the bank through this portal. The proposed portal is likely to be launched by March or April. However, SMEs would have to adhere to minimum standards regarding quality. SBI had earlier sanctioned Rs 600 crore as loans to SMEs under the special package.
